Horwich has rows of stone-built loco-works terraces, Blackrod has older village properties and 1970s estates, and the former Horwich Loco Works site has brought thousands of new homes at Rivington Chase. Add the exposed properties climbing toward Rivington Pike and you have four very different plumbing challenges within a couple of miles. Height and exposure matter here. Properties on the moor side of Horwich and above Blackrod sit high enough that condensate pipes freeze earlier in the year than they do down in the Bolton valley, and mains pressure at the top of the hill drops noticeably at peak times. We size boilers and specify condensate routes with that in mind rather than treating BL6 like the town centre. Whatever the property type, we offer the full plumbing range across Horwich & Blackrod — from 24/7 emergency plumbing and burst pipe repairs through to new boiler installations, boiler repairs, full bathroom installations, hidden leak detection, power flushing and landlord gas safety certificates. ## Common Plumbing Jobs in Horwich & Blackrod Frozen condensate lockouts on exposed Rivington-side properties - Low mains pressure at the top of the Horwich hill - Combi swaps in stone loco-works terraces off Chorley New Road - Underfloor heating and smart controls in Rivington Chase new-builds - Unvented cylinder installs in larger Blackrod family homes ## Streets & Landmarks We Cover We regularly carry out plumbing jobs across Horwich & Blackrod — close to Horwich town centre, Rivington Pike, Middlebrook and Blackrod village, plus the surrounding residential streets.
