Bathroom Installations — Done Properly, on Time

A bathroom refit is one of the most disruptive home improvements you'll ever pay for. Getting the plumbing right first time is what separates a 5-day job from a 5-week nightmare of leaks, blockages, snags and 'we'll come back next week'.

We carry out all plumbing, gas (where required for new boiler or unvented cylinder relocation), waste connections and final commissioning in-house. For tiling, electrics and joinery, we either work alongside your chosen trades or bring in trusted local specialists we've used for years.

Whether you're swapping a tired bath for a walk-in shower, fitting a brand-new ensuite, or stripping out a 1980s suite and starting fresh, we'll give you a realistic programme, a fixed price for our work, and a single point of contact throughout.

    Why Bathroom Projects Go Wrong

Most bathroom horror stories trace back to one of three things: poor sequencing of trades, plumbing changes done as an afterthought, or waste pipework that doesn't actually fall correctly to the soil stack.

Done in the right order, with the plumbing planned before tiling starts, a typical bathroom refit takes 5-10 working days. Done badly, the same job takes a month and ends in leaks and call-backs.

    • Waste pipes need a minimum 1:40 fall to drain reliably — get this wrong and the bath gurgles
    • Concealed plumbing must be pressure-tested before tiling — once it's covered, fixing a leak means destroying tiles
    • Wall-hung WCs and basins need proper bracing in the wall — not just plasterboard fixings
    • New showers fed from old gravity systems often need a pump to perform
    • Electric showers, heated towel rails and mirrors all need planning into the electrical first-fix before tiling

    Our Process

    1

    Design & Quote

Site visit, measure-up, discussion of layout, fittings and finishes. Fixed quote for plumbing work; itemised allowances for fittings if we're supplying.

    2

    Strip Out

Existing suite, tiles and (where required) flooring removed and disposed of. Working area protected and dust-managed.

    3

    First Fix

All new plumbing, waste and gas pipework installed and pressure-tested before tiling or boarding begins.

    4

    Trades Sequence

Electrics, tiling and joinery sequenced correctly. We coordinate so each trade has a clean handover.

    5

    Second Fix & Commission

All sanitary ware fitted, taps, showers and WCs commissioned, every joint tested, full demonstration to you before sign-off.

    Technical Detail

    Bath, Shower or Both

Walk-in showers are increasingly popular and add accessibility, but removing the only bath in a house can hurt resale value. We advise based on how you actually use the room.

    Waste & Drainage

Waste pipes need correct falls and proper connections to the soil stack. Long horizontal runs from a relocated bath or shower may need a saniflo or rerouting — we'll flag this before quoting.

    Combi Boiler Flow

A combi boiler comfortably supplies one shower or one tap; running two at once chills both. For larger bathrooms with multiple outlets, system or heat-only boilers with an unvented cylinder give better simultaneous performance.

    Underfloor Heating

Wet or electric underfloor heating in bathrooms feels luxurious and frees wall space from radiators. We install both — see our underfloor heating service.

    Heritage & Period Properties

Older homes often have lead supply pipes, cast-iron waste stacks and uneven floors. We've worked on hundreds of period properties across Bolton and Greater Manchester and plan around these realities.
